SCHOOLS across Llandudno and Llandudno Junction participated in a name the mascot contest before the school holidays.
Crest Co-operative had some excellent entries from Ysgol Nant y Coed, Llandudno Junction. The winner of the contest was five-year-old Jaiden Maffei. The name of Crest Co-operative’s new mascot is Tommy Textile. Jaiden received tickets to the Welsh Mountain Zoo and a certificate.
Tommy Textile will be visiting schools, town centres and local shops this year, to promote the work of non-profit recycling company Crest Co-operative. The character Tommy Textile was modelled on Crest clothing recycling bank. Runners up, who were also from Ysgol Nant y Coed, were congratulated by Tommy Textile and received prizes. Other suggested names included Purple Percy and Billy Bin.
