Did you know Llandudno Junction has its very own community radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week?
Crest Community Radio, based at Ferry Farm Road in Llandudno Junction, has been providing a round-the-clock live service since December 2024. While Crest Radio was established in 2020, it has only recently launched its full live broadcasting schedule, and the response from the local community has been superb.
The station is part of Crest Co-operative, a well-established local charity supporting the community through social enterprise, reuse, wellbeing, and training projects.
Operating from its newly refitted studios, Crest Community Radio now has two studios daily content delivering. Studio 1, a former archive room, has been transformed into what staff describe as looking like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, bringing a professional and modern feel to the station.
Studio 2 is dedicated to podcasting, hosting a wide range of programmes each week involving different groups and members of the local community.
With over 10 volunteers already providing regular content, Crest Radio is growing steadily. It aims to reach even wider audiences and strengthen links with the community and local businesses over the coming months.
