Our Supported Ability Placement Scheme

At Crest, we’re committed to our local community. To helping them in as many ways as we can.
Our Supported Ability Placement Scheme offers people with learning difficulties a valuable chance to develop essential life skills. And to enjoy a powerful sense of purpose, achievement and belonging.

Following personalised work programmes, designed to achieve individual results, they can work as part of a close-knit team in a variety of roles. Supported at all times by our experienced and highly-qualified staff and a team of dedicated volunteers.

Day to day tasks include:

Assessing, sorting and cataloguing clothing and other donated items.
Cleaning and carrying out administrative tasks or routine checks.
Working in our retail stores or as a delivery van assistant.

Between short and highly structured work patterns, there are daily opportunities to share a little down-time. Including activities like:

Karaoke
Arts and crafts
Baking
Gardening
Or just relaxing with friends
There’s even a chance to appear on Crest Radio, using our own recording studio and internet radio station.

An Introduction to the Supported Ability Placement Department.

Learning Disabilities? We don’t let that stop anyone. Here at Crest we concentrate on Ability. Come and join our exciting team and meet the friendly support workers, we can change your outlook in life were we value everyone. We can place you on training courses, increase your skills, confidence, independence and dignity. We will give you first hand work experience bespoke to you, through different projects run throughout all the seasons.

Our Mission

Crest have a positive attitude towards people with Learning Disabilities and aim to support families and the individuals themselves to get the best services available specifically to them and, ultimately, to improve their quality of life in every way.
