Eirias High School Visit Crest!

Crest Co-operative were recently visited by 24 students from Eirias High School. The students are involved in the Community Challenge section of a Welsh Baccalaureate, and came to Crest to learn more about the organisation and about the concept of what a Social Enterprise is.

Over a two day period the students visited our Douglas Road shop in Colwyn Bay, and were introduced to staff, volunteers, and to members of the Veteran’s Shed too. During the two days the students created questionnaires relating to subject of the recycling and up-selling of pre-loved goods. The students spent a day in the Colwyn Bay Community, engaging with local citizens and asking questions relating to knowledge of Crest, general recycling habits, as well as exploring attitudes to purchasing or recycling used items. In total 91 local people were engaged with, and 73% of the local residents of Colwyn Bay had heard of Crest.

We’d like to thank all the students for coming to visit out shop, engaging with us and we hope they learned something new about Crest and other social enterprises along the way!
