Ralph Higgins, one of our engineers and a much loved member of the Crest Team, sadly passed away at the weekend following a short illness. Ralph had been part of the Crest family for over 7 years and was a driving force in developing our WEEE department; Ralph was well known and respected by many people in the local community and from reuse organisations across the UK, particularly with the Reuse Network, with whom he developed great working relations and made many friends.
Ralph was loved and respected by all of us here at Crest; his cheeky banter, unique wit, warm heart and unselfish attention to the needs of others will be much missed by his colleagues and the many people we support.
n many ways, Ralph epitomised the spirit of Crest; his unyielding work ethic, commitment, teamwork, kindness and devotion to helping those in need, was in complete harmony with our company mission; inspiring his colleagues, volunteers and beneficiaries along the way. We, like many others privileged to know him, will deeply miss Ralph, he was truly one in a million; saddened though we are, we shall also fondly remember the successes and laugh out loud moments shared with Ralph over the years. We’ve had many staff come through our doors over the last 22 years, but there was only ever one Ralph. He marched to the beat of his own drum and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Crest Co-operative will be closed on Friday 21st August to pay our respects to Ralph and his family. Ralph Higgins – A MAN WHO GAVE MORE THAN HE ASKED.
