SPORTS fans can support their favourite clubs by donating unwanted clothing.
Llandudno Football Club and Llandudno Cricket Club have teamed up with
Crest Co-operative, in a bid to raise funds to support their teams.
Local residents and supporters of the clubs can deposit unwanted clothing and textiles in Crest Co-operative’s purple textile recycling banks, which have been placed outside
the two clubs.
For every tonne of textiles collected, Crest will donate £300 to the clubs.

said: “We are delighted to be taking part in Crest’s textile collections. We
hope that members of the public and our supporters will help us to raise money
for our teams, by donating their unwanted clothing.”
Textiles that are collected will be sold at Crest Co-operative’s two community stores in Colwyn Bay and Llandudno Junction. Clothing and textiles that are not fit forre-sale will be sent to developing countries. All profits made in the two community stores create
work placements for the unemployed and adults with learning disabilities at
Crest in Llandudno Junction.
Sharon Jones, chief executive at social enterprise Crest Co-operative, said: “Collecting unwanted textiles is a great way to raise money for your local sports club, school or
community group. We have donated over £6, 500 to local causes over the last
year.”
Llandudno Football Club’s textile bank is located at Maesdu Park,
Builder Street West. To support Llandudno Cricket Club visit The Oval,
