CREST Co-operative has awarded £4924.90 to community groups across Conwy since July 2012.
This week six projects were awarded grants. Support 2 Communicate, which is run by Conwy Stroke Group, received a funding boost to purchase a second hand computer. Volunteers aim to use the laptop to aid the recovery of people who have suffered from strokes.
Tan Lan community centre in Old Colwyn were awarded funds to purchase garden equipment for a piece of land that they will be growing vegetables on and maintaining.
Welsh Women’s Aid will be developing a children’s play area in a Conwy refuge. The project received a cash injection of £500 from the Crest Community Fund.
Other community groups to benefit included Menter Siabod. The community group will be purchase play equipment for the Dolwyddelan community fun day. Rhos Environmental Action Group, which is supported by North Wales Police, were awarded funds to transform parks in the area.
Conwy Community Transport, Llandudno Junction, provide services for some of the most vulnerable people in Conwy. The group received £500 to purchase equipment to clean their fleet of vehicles.
