Last year Crest received a donation from the Welsh Parliament / Senedd Cymru of pre-loved IT equipment, including laptops, PC towers and printers. With this equipment Crest undertook a large-scale upgrade of its IT equipment, using the new devices to expand its training facilities. Four bespoke training rooms were created across 2 sites using some of the equipment Crest received from the Welsh Parliament.
In addition to this the equipment was used to complete general upgrades and streamlining of Crests operations, supporting the organisation in its ongoing efforts to support greater numbers of individuals across Conwy and Denbighshire.
However, Crest has also used the equipment, donated by the Welsh Parliament, to support other like-minded organisations across North Wales. Recognising that through cooperation and collaboration third sector organisations can assist one another maximise their positive social and environmental impact.
Thus far, Crest has donated IT equipment to Antur WaunFawr, an organisation which offers individuals with additional learning needs the opportunity to carry out meaningful work in their community. Donations have also been made to Seren Ffestiniog and Tyddyn Mon, both of which also provides support to individuals with additional learning needs in their respective communities of South Gwynedd and Anglesey.
Rod Williams, Manging Director of Crest said:
“Supporting local charities and like-minded organisations trying to positively impact their community is apart of our DNA at Crest and it has been incredible to be able to provide these organisations with high quality donated IT equipment.
“Having modern IT infrastructure is essential to every business and organisation today however, many third sector organisation lack modern equipment as they often instead invest their limited resources in their communities and the people they seek to support. Given this, I am incredibly proud that we have had this opportunity to provide this IT equipment to organisations that I know will put it to good use.
“I would like to thank the Welsh Parliament for initially donating this equipment to us, not only allowing us to modernise our own IT equipment but provide similar opportunities to other like-minded organisations.
“We will continue to use donations from individuals and organisations to maximise our social impact and to support other third sector businesses to succeed.”
