Volunteer Q&A #1: Rob Hailswood

Rob Hailswood volunteers in our Retail department, specifically in our Colwyn Bay shop. He helps customers with their sales by working on the tills and helping take furniture to customer’s cars. Here’s what he had to say about his time at Crest Co-operative!

Thanks for your time volunteering with us and giving us this interview. How long have you worked at Crest Co-operative?
Rob: A few months ago, back in February.

What’s the best thing about volunteering at Crest?
Rob: Just helping people mainly! I love helping out charities and similar places like Crest.

Can you describe yourself in three words?
Rob: Strong, helpful… and committed!

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Rob: Taking the dog for a walk and playing on the Playstation.

Do you have a favourite member of staff and/or volunteer that you like to work with?
Rob: I like working with Ann and Alan . Ann is on the ball, she knows what she’s doing and helps me if I get stuck. Alan is a laugh and makes working here a lot of fun.

Any funny stories inside or outside of Crest that you want to mention?
Rob: When we were taking those pictures (for this interview), Alan and I were messing about between pictures, and were throwing couch cushions at one another! That was a great day at Crest.

Last question, why do you volunteer?
Rob: I like helping people. Charities and similar places like Crest help people who are struggling and that’s why I volunteer.
